Paramore...Let The Flames Begin!

If fan reaction is an indicator of a bands performance then Paramore was red-lining over the top. Giving 150%, Haley and company gave the fans one helluva ride Saturday, Nov.8, 2009 at the Fillmore Event Center in Denver. It was a fist pumping, crowd cheering KICK-ASS show!

The set list was a great mixture of songs both old and new and included:
  • Misery Business
  • Ignorance
  • Brick by Boring Brick
  • Where the Lines Overlap
  • I caught Myself
  • Decode
  • Looking Up
  • Crushcrushcrush
  • That's What You Get
  • Misguided Ghost (acoustic version)

Truth is, no matter what song they were playing...the music, the sounds, everything was all great. Especially the light show. That was spectacular, I loved it.

After the show I asked a couple of teenage girls what they liked about the show. What stood out the most for them? Besides the music of course they all agreed they loved the interaction the band had going on with the fans. The loved that Haley spoke to them in between songs and showed a more personal side of herself. They discoverd her sense of humor and really loved her ability to "WOW" the audience. For these girls it was their first Paramore show and they were already planning their next.

For me... It was my of love music and entertainment and I loved this show because that's what I got. Music and entertainment in spades! Paramore plowed through their hook riddled, fist pumping music with boundless energy. The show flew by with a series of shout-out choruses, fantastic guitar power and powerhouse vocals. Hayley's playfulness with the multi-generational audience was a joy to watch. She and her bandmates appeared to be having a great time on stage and that was reflected in all of their performances. If you like high energy and non stop entertainment at a show then Paramore is a MUST SEE. They give a solid performance from start to finish.

Eddie Money...Two Tickets To Paradise!

I Wanna Go Back!

Halloween Weekend
October 30 & 31, 2009
Two Fabulous Shows
Chinook Winds Casino, Oregon

Oh What A Show!!!

Eddie Money welcomed those who wanted to jump to their feet and party like it was the 1980's on Halloween weekend. It all took place at the Chinook Winds Casino, in Lincoln City, Oregon. Both shows delivered what your typical, crazy, fun loving 80's rock fans wanted.. He was remarkably energetic and he constantly engaged the audience. His sense of humor was as entertaining as his hit songs. I kept thinking of him as the Rodney Dangerfield of music. He was funny, fantastic, and his musicality was awesome!

In 1978 and throughout the 80's Eddie Money was all the rage on the radio. As you watch him perform 31 years later you come to realize there's no such thing as aging rockers. At least not Eddie. He had the crowd on their feet from the opening number..."Two Tickets to Paradise". "Come on" he shouts to the crowd.."Who wants to go to Mexico with the money man"? In that one moment Eddie Money had set the scene for the rest of the night and our journey began.

Both shows were all thrills and no fills. Fans (some wearing Halloween costumes) filled the venue to party with the money man. They were dancing in the aisles as they sang along to timeless hits like "Shakin", "Two Tickets to Paradise","I Wanna Go Back" and together with the help of his beautiful, talented daughter Jesse, they performed an awesome rendition of "Take Me Home Tonight" It only took one look around the venue to realize the bands likeability.

Saturday nights show was just as incredible with the same boundless energy. Eddie gives credit to his bandmates of 23 years for much of their success. Together they are tight and right on. Together they have a routine that is prime road trip material and together they deliver one "Oh What a Show" performance!

Foreigner

It was a sold out show. You can hear hear the roar of the crowd, yea you can picture the scene…

Oh What A Show!

Mick Jones, the last remaining original member of Foreigner lead the band through a series of their greatest hits with boundless energy. It was in your face, up close, fist-pumping, hip grinding rock and roll from beginning to end.

The current band line-up includes, Mick Jones (original founding member) Kelly Hansen, Jeff Jacobs, Thom Gimbel, Jeff Pilson and Jason Bonham (son of late Led Zepplin drummer John Bonham). Together these band members make up the new Juke Box Hero’s.

Kelly Hanson, lead vocalist, has one helluva set of pipes that can truly rival Foreigners original vocalist Lou Gramm. Kelly reminds me of a younger version of Steve Tyler not just in looks but in his actions as well. The guy never once stopped moving. When he unexpectedly leaped into the audience the crowd roared with excitement. It was just non-stop fun..

The Roar Of The Crowd!

Being a Lou Gramm fan I wasn’t sure how I would react to one of my favorite bands without my favorite singer but OMG Kelly Hansen nailed it, song after song after song! Moments into the first song I had fallen in love with this band all over again. Mick put together an incredible cast of amazingly talented musicians . They play hard, they play real and they are definitely here to stay. They are releasing a new CD/DVD sometime this September.. (sold exclusivly at Walmart) and I for one can’t wait.

The set list included such hits as Double Vision, Cold As Ice, Head Games, Blue Morning, Waiting for a Girl Like You, Dirty White boy (sent out to all the naughty ladies..weg) , Say You Will, Starrider ( an oldie but goodie), Feels Like The First Time, Urgent, an awesome rendition of Juke Box Hero , Long Long Way From Home, I Wanna Know What Love Is and the show ended on a perfect note with Hot Blooded.

The entire show was explosive and filled with action as Kelly Hansen danced about the stage flirting with the audience. He was contagious to watch and his high notes were right on! Mick’s rivoting guitar licks played well with the audience, bringing the songs we all know and love to life. Everyone, young and old was singing and cheering to such familiar beats.

Kelly Hansen

Thom Gimbel took front and center during Urgent and had the audience spellbound. His sax playing brought the house down. I can’t imagine Foreigner without the sax, that was always such an integral part of the band and last night it was played to perfection.

Thom is the Man!
Jason Bonhan had one of the most outrageous performances by a drummer that I have ever seen. He nailed it!!!

Jason Bonham

I could honestly go on and on about this band, the musicians, and this tour but I think to truly appreciate the craftsmanship this band exhibits and the incredibly high energy they bring to the stage you need to experience it for yourself. There’s no way in hell you could be disappointed. Foreigner Rules!

Mick Jones

Dueling Guitars!

For me, to see this VERY visual band play their signature songs is a great way to end the summer. All thats left to say is…..

OMG…. OH WHAT A SHOW!

LOVERBOY

Summer + Fun = Loverboy!

Elitch Gardens, Denver CO.
June 27, 2009

The heat of the day was finally starting to cool down a bit as the sun started to set. There had been little relief until then. The evening clouds started to build giving the stage an eerie appearance. We arrived early and was let in before the crowd. It was the perfect opportunity to stake a claim for where we would watch the show and find the best spot to shoot photos. Front row center stage…man it doesn’t get any better than than that.
Funny thing though, just as the cooler air mountain air rolled into town that night, LOVERBOY hit the stage and wow, the heat started all over again. The guys were smokin’ and the show kicked-ass. Yes it was time to sizzle alright….

With a set list that highlighted all their power hits Loverboy kept the crowd cheering throughout the entire show. Hit after hit after hit. Working for the Weekend, Notorious, Turn Me Loose, The Kid is Hot Tonight, Lady of the 80's and my favorite This Could Be The Night was incredible. And that was just the beginning! Mike Reno's voice is amazing. It is as good today as it was in his heydays!! He never missed a beat and sang every note beautifully.

For more on this show read the blog I wrote for the Loverboy Fan Club. Its posted on the LFC LIVE section of the website. There's also a slide show with some great photos from the show. If you are a Loverboy fan or just a fan of good music and you want to have a great time then go see Loverboy perform live. They frickin rock! I can safely say you will not be disappointed.

What else can I say except......OH WHAT A SHOW!
